Croydon Education Partnership’s Governance Team are looking for passionate
volunteers to join Croydon and Bromley school governance boards and help shape
the future of education. Gain important skills that will help in your career and make

As a school governor, you’ll play a critical role in improving outcomes for pupils
and ensuring that the voices of all community members are heard in decision making processes.

What support is available to governors
The education department ongoing guidance to help you succeed in your role as a
governor. Its governance team will provide support throughout your journey to
ensure you feel confident and capable in your responsibilities.
We provide comprehensive induction training for all new governors, ensuring you
are fully prepared to carry out your role effectively. You will also have access to
ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills throughout
your time as a governor.
Experience and how to apply
No previous experience in education is necessary; we are looking for individuals
with a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils and a willingness to learn.
Currently, only 5% of school governors nationally come from global majority
backgrounds, and women make up just 36% of chairs of governing boards. We are
committed to changing this, and your involvement can help make our boards more
reflective of the communities they serve.
