This training is designed to support:
– Year 1 teachers in making accurate judgements of writing standards
– Consistency of judgement across schools
This session provides teachers with the opportunity to share and agree end-of-year expectations in writing, using the Croydon Year 1 Teacher Assessment Framework.
It will include opportunities for teachers to:
– Undertake standardisation activities to develop a common understanding of end-of-year writing expectations
– Work collaboratively in small groups to compare examples of pupils’ writing, identify strengths and gaps, and agree next steps
– Delegates will receive access to Croydon’s progression guidance documents for writing.
Preparation:
Teachers are required to bring three pieces of writing for each of two pupils who are working at or close to end-of-year expectations.
