The Role of the SEND Governor | Croydon Education Partnership

Overview

Ensuring the school supports the effective progress and attainment of all children is a key strategic responsibility of the Governing Board, including a key vulnerable group, the school’s SEND children.

Facilitated by an experienced SEND expert, this development session will look at how Governors, and in particular, the nominated SEND Governor, can effectively support and challenge the effectiveness of the school’s SEND provision. It is important that delegates have previously attended An Introduction to SEND as this session will build on knowledge gained from that introductory session.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools with an annual Octavo Governance training contract.

Description

The material covered in this session will assist Governors’ development in relation to Key Competency 2 (Accountability) within the Governance Competency Framework.

A place must be booked beforehand in order to be able to attend the training session. Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

Price
For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Octavo Governance, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Octavo Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £115 per delegate per session.
