Asking powerful, strategic questions is a key component of effective governance requiring understanding and practice. skill. This session explores the positive effects of asking the right questions, at the right time, in the right way to challenge robustly and with kindness. We look at the difference in purpose between open and closed questions to enable you to remain curious, probe sufficiently, and act as a critical friend as part of your role as a Governor / Trustee. There is optional post session practice to embed this learning.
This session is suitable for new and experienced Governors and Trustees, as well as Executive Leaders in Education. It is led by Jannine Howe, an Executive Coach and Facilitator specialising in Leadership Development. The material covered in this session will assist Governors’ and Trustees’ development in relation to the Governance Competency Framework.
