Overview

As part of the collective Governing Board’s statutory safeguarding duties, all Trustees and Governors of maintained and academy schools should have an understanding of the PREVENT Duty.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools that have an annual training contract with Octavo Governance.

Description

Facilitated by a Prevent Duty trained specialist working within Bromley Council, this training session considers the duty under the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, which falls upon the management teams within schools, including Governors, to prevent children and young people from being drawn into terrorism.

The material covered in this session will assist Governors’ development in relation to Key Competency 2 (Accountability) and 5 (Compliance) within the Governor Competency Framework.

A place must be booked beforehand in order to be able to attend the training session. Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

Price:
For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Octavo Governance, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Octavo Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £115 per delegate per session.
