In line with the latest DfE guidance and the statutory duties set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
2026 this 90-minute online session supports Directors and Governors in
their oversight of digital safeguarding.
The session equips governors with the knowledge and tools needed to evaluate filtering, monitoring, cybersecurity,
and the safe use of AI and emerging technologies. It focuses on what governors
should understand, question, and evidence as part of their safeguarding role. This course is non-chargeable for those schools with an annual Croydon Education Partnership Governance training contract.
This session focuses on governance oversight rather than operational delivery and covers:
– Governors’ statutory responsibilities under
– KCSIE 2026
– Oversight of filtering and monitoring, including AI-enabled systems
– Cybersecurity and data protection risks, including those linked to AI tools
– When and how concerns should be escalated
– Practical challenge and assurance through effective questioning
– What an effective annual digital safeguarding review should include

Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Clerks who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session. All courses should be booked via our portal. For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with CEP Governance, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased a CEP Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £125 per delegate per session.
