This training is essential for any teacher new to teaching Year 6, or returning to teach in Year 6. The course will provide delegates with: • an understanding of the statutory requirements for assessing pupil’s attainment in the core subjects at the end of KS2 • support in developing Y6 subject knowledge in English writing, reading, spelling, grammar and mathematics as well as practical ideas for teaching to take back to the classroom Led by the KS2 moderation manager this course will thoroughly unpick the requirements for the teacher assessment of writing, as well as how to prepare pupils for reading, GPS and maths SATs.
Please note that this is a face-to-face course and will take place over two afternoon sessions on 1st October and 8th October 2026. Please ensure that you are able to attend both sessions before booking.
