Overview

One of the three core strategic functions that must be effectively discharged by Governing Boards is overseeing the financial performance of their school and ensuring that its money is well spent.

This course is non-chargeable for those schools who have an annual Governance Contract with CEP.

Description

The aim of this development session is to provide Governors with an overview on how Academies are funded, the reporting requirements that must be complied with by the Academy Trust and the key strategic role played by both Trustees and Governors on Local Boards.

The material covered in this session will assist Governors’ development in relation to Key Competency 2 (Accountability) and Key Competency 5 (Compliance) within the Governance Competency Framework.

A place must be booked beforehand in order to be able to attend the training session. Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session.

Price
For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with the Governance team at Croydon Education Partnership, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased a Croydon Education Partnership Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend our virtual sessions for a fee of £135 per delegate per session.
