With increasing focus on the governance agenda around the concepts of equality, diversity and inclusion This development session allows delegates to unpick and explore these key concepts in greater detail. This session gives participants an overview of key terminology within DEI including unconscious bias. Participants will reflect on what DEI means to them, their school and their board of governors and consider what actions they may take to promote a more diverse, equitable and inclusive school and governance environment. Please note that this is a two part development session and delegates will be asked to complete some activities between the two sessions. This session is non-chargeable for those Trustees and Governors whose schools have purchased an annual governance contract with Octavo Governance.
The material covered in this session will underpin Governors’ understanding of Key Competencies 1 (Strategic Leadership) and 3 (People) within the Governance Competency Framework

Those delegates who have booked a place by 5pm on the day before the session will receive, via an email, a Microsoft Teams meeting link which will be needed to join the session. To ensure the security of the virtual meeting, Governors who have not booked and not been sent the link will not be allowed to join the training session. All courses should be booked via our portal. Price For those Governors whose schools have purchased a training contract with Croydon Education Partnership, attendance at these sessions will be at no additional charge; Governors whose school have not purchased an Croydon Education Partnership Governance training contract are warmly welcome to attend for a fee of £125 per delegate.
